Title: Electronic Engineer, Air Combat Training System
Perform on-site certification and diagnostic performance checks of Air Combat Training Pods in support of the Air Combat Training System (ACTS) contract, providing a multi-million dollar Autonomous Aircraft Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (AACMI) system engineered to optimize an Air Force pilot’s combat capabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform on-site certification & diagnostic performance checks of Air Combat Training Pods
Diagnose the causes of equipment degradation and malfunctions through application of electronic theory, system analysis, test equipment, wire diagrams, schematics, and analysis of built in test displays.
Test, inspect, and restore equipment to safe and effective operation.
Based on equipment degradation, may be required to research technical orders and consult with system engineers to perform modifications to enhance compatibility and reliability with aircraft systems.
Use precision test equipment such as signal processors, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, complex computer optical equipment, voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, multi-meters, and other digital or analog interface devices peculiar to AACMI equipment.
Associate degree and seven years of progressive experience to include three years of ACTS experience, or equivalent (additional college degree may substitute for three (3) years of experience).
Must have knowledge of advanced electrical, electronics, operating principles of complex and intricate electronic components; interpreting block, schematic, wiring and logic diagrams and technical data; troubleshooting techniques; calibration, planning, quality assurance, computer operational principles; caring for and repairing complex electrical components; hand tools and special tools.
Must have knowledge of supply, budget, maintenance data collection, quality control and assurance, support equipment and facility management
Must be proficient in a wide array of pod shop tasks to include: total pod inspection and checkout, bench checks, troubleshooting, failure analysis, removal and replacement actions on external and internal components and cables, corrosion control, corrective action reporting, ordering parts, packaging and shipping of parts, inventory control and tracking of parts and support equipment, verifying software in the pod and test sets, updating and correcting software in the pod and test set, and maintaining and updating technical data to include technical manuals, performing modifications and updates to both hardware and software
Must have a current U.S. Security Clearance
Must be capable of working full time 40 hours per week Must be capable of supporting operational deployments to other countries, such as Turkey, Italy, England, etc., on short notice and able to remain for extended periods.
Must speak, read, and write the English Language at college level, be fluent in technical aircraft and electronic terminology.
