Our teams have supported a number of Tier 1 FIs with business transformation programmes covering all elements of the operating model and IT architectural design. Working in our Banking practice you will have the opportunity to bring your cards knowledge to arenas where our customers are looking to build robust strategic frameworks, business improvement models against a backdrop of delivering new revenue growth and optimisation opportunities. In a customer facing role your role is to work collaboratively with clients to ensure that they are well positioned to deliver on their business goals and generate sustainable growth.

Customer relationships are at the heart of everything we execute, and will look for you to build and develop relationships as well as contributing ideas and frameworks for our Banking practice. Our senior team are dedicated to supporting in all elements of relationship development, management and provide guidance on best practice within Capco.

Outside of the experience that you bring we are also looking for self-motivated and driven individuals who are committed to help us take our fast growing business forward. Capco prides itself on the standards of excellence it brings to client engagements, and we are looking for skill sets in the following areas:

Core Skills

All applicants should have previous consultancy experience and possess the following skills:
  • Very strong understanding of the end to end credit card operating model
  • Deep expertise in either one of the following areas related to cards: issuing, acquiring or processing
  • Strong understanding of business and market dynamics, financial practices and supportive technologies in the financial services industry generally, and cards and payment in particular
  • Robust analytical and quantitative skills and the ability to think, write and present in a logical and structured way
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to confidently liaise with senior managers and clients, conveying complex ideas and developing project deliverables
  • The ability to quickly build trust amongst colleagues and clients
  • Have strong drive, resilience and a passion for excellence
  • Team player with the ability to deliver projects and to work within project teams
  • Fluent in English and German and potentially one other major European language
  • A proficient and advanced user MS Office applications (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Strong academic track-record, preferably with a financial or analytical bias. An MBA or ACA qualification would be advantageous, although not essential.
For Senior Consultants and Consultants, the following core competencies should be demonstrated:
  • Understanding latest trends within the cards industry
  • Proven delivery capability on cards related projects/consulting engagements
  • Good understanding of credit card industry operating model (3 party and 4 party models)
  • Equipped with solid consulting skills
For Managing Principals and Principal Consultants, the following further requirements will need to demonstrated:
  • Understanding latest trends within the cards industry
  • Good understanding of mobile payments and associated new payment products
  • Good knowledge of core card issuing and acquiring systems and supporting business functions systems
  • To play a core role in the development of the Capco Banking and Payments practice: populated by individuals who are passionate about the future of payments and the important role it plays in the battle for liquidity amongst the major institutions
  • Providing a network of client relationships in the cards industry
  • Ability to lead cards projects/engagements with cards Subject Matter Expertise
  • Ability to develop Capco thought leadership within the Cards domain
Experience & Role Requirements
  • Programme Management within the Payments space
  • Customer Strategy frameworks
  • Deep knowledge of the cards market gained within a tier 1 Financial Institution or Consultancy Practice
  • Process re-engineering techniques
  • Technical Payments knowledge (Retail & corporate Cards and Emerging Payment Methods)
  • Payments regulatory environment
  • New product management & market entry
  • Client on boarding process and industry best practices
  • Pricing strategies and origination
  • Strong commercial acumen developed experientially
  • Strong stakeholder management toolkit
  • Experience of change management (methodologies & delivery)
  • Ability to think laterally and apply knowledge to new markets
  • Having good comprehension of Organisational Insight and practices
  • Flexible work practice as working on client site is an essential requirement
