Red Hat's Services organization is seeking a Solution Architect (Presales Engineer) to support our rapidly growing sales efforts with our System Integrator (SI) partners in EMEA.
The Solution Architect is responsible for working with Red Hat SI Management teams by presenting solutions to partners and their end customers through webinars, on-site meetings and by responding to technical questions through various forums.
Travel is significant for this position as it is primarily a field role. Estimate approximately 60% travel.
The Solution Architect is focused on our key SI partner relationships. By working closely with them the Solution Architect has to ensure that information is being shared, knowledge is being increased and looking at addressing the processes to create opportunities, share best practices and deliver presales support for large projects. The role will also offer the opportunity to interface with the Red Hat Business Units to deliver SI feedback from the field.
Primary job responsibilities
Develop strategic relationships with Red Hat Partners and Alliances to become a trusted adviser for Red Hat products and solutions
Help drive achievement of the enterprise fiscal goals
Provide presales technical support to our SI Partners including delivery of webinars and technical enablement e.g. on-site training
Support product evaluations and technical proof-of-concepts
Assist in responding to partner inquiries, including RFPs, and RFIs
Assist the engineering, marketing and business organizations on product information launches
Advisory/consultative role to assist SIs in better leveraging Jboss
Support development of repeatable SI solution assets based on JBoss
Good knowledge and experience on Java, JEE, and SOA – Middleware architectures in general
A proactive approach in building technical relationship with our partners
Ideally the candidate has also experience with JBoss products and technologies
Additional experience with IBM Websphere / Oracle Weblogic is a plus
Experience in working with or for System Integrators is a plus
Excellent written, oral communication in English is a must and it will be highly advantageous if candidates are fluent in a second major European language
Experience working with C-level constituencies
Good documentation skills and presentation experience to mid-large sized audiences
Effective influence & negotiation skills
Understanding of industry trends around cloud computing, end user computing, development platform or virtualization preferred
Strong persuasive skills and ability to influence decision maker
Candidates must possess exceptional organizational and planning skills and have the innate ability to multitask
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team environment
