The Bid Desk Manager is responsible managing and leading the EMEA team, as well as holding an indvidual contributor role, facilitating the execution of non-standard or complex deals in a high productivity environment. The role leads a team which provides assistance to the various stakeholders in the structuring and documentation of complex deals while adhering to the corporate policies, processes, programs and systems that affect the structuring and execution of revenue transactions. The position will be responsible for the coordination of significant transactions with accountability for accurate and timely response.
Primary job responsibilities
Build and lead a small team to ensure processing of non-standard or complex agreements for compliance with corporate policies and timely processing. Review and draft business terms language, work closely with Business Affairs on contract review and revision, and faciliate approval of deal structure with all key stakeholders in finance, business unit, etc. The team ensures forward deal momentum, including troubleshooting, managing the escalation process and ensuring successful resolution of each deal closure. Build a current and future capability support alignment to ensure quality and effeciency as the company scales to $3B in revenue and beyond.
Establish strong, trusted working relationships with all RH departments and groups that contribute to the structure of, or may be impacted by, the non-standard or complex deal, specifically: Sales, Business Affairs, Finance(Revenue), Operations, Product Management, Product Marketing, Global Professional Services and Global Support Services.
Assess existing business processes and identifying areas for improvement. Responsible for leading and driving process improvement and change to optimize the bid desk capability while ensuring key internal stakeholder buy-in.
Provide analysis and reports on the metrics of non standard deal trends for the management review purpose with recommendation of the improvements both from deal structuring perspecitve as well as from productivity perspective.
It is ideal to have a demonstrated track record of successfully managing and leading people directly, however, experience leading matrixed teams or project teams successfully is sufficient. Must show the capability of building organizational support and alignment for rapidly increasing demands on the bid desk function.
Proven track record in any sales support function dealing with a strong emphasis on productivity and service levels (finance, sales operations, bid desk) is required, while it is advantageous to have experience in a similar bid desk or deal desk function. Must have familiarity with full sales life cycle, including operations, order processing, fulfillment, revenue recognition, legal contracts, purchase orders, and license agreements.
Experience assessing business processes and identifying areas for improvement and success in driving change.
Outstanding track record in influencing key internal stakeholders, communicating a vision, setting expectations and building strong partnerships.
Proven skills in negotiation, analysis, logic, problem-solving, crisis management, leadership.
Must be organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, persistent, and exhibit skills in diplomacy and influence. Must be comfortable handling multiple, urgent-priority tasks, projects, and relationships under pressure and in a deadline focused environment.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.
Must reside within a commutable distance of Farnborough or Munich.
