good compensation packages, relatively management work environment stress wise, employees are provides a sufficient degree of flexibility at work (i.e. aren't constantly being controlled when they arrive / go).
Main downside is development plan / opportunities, there isn't one! Keep hearing about succession planning, development opportunities, etc. but fact is that these plans often don't go further than an excel sheet or presentation document. Development opportunities are often based on being in the right place, right time and knowing the right people. Understandably there quite a few people in management positions who are only there due to office politics and nothing else.
Good place to start your work life (good pay and experience) or end your career. Don't recommended as a place for in between since industry is one which is only going to consolidate more and more in the future.
