Become part of an R&D team working on innovative computer vision and optics applications for industry automation. We’re looking for an Optical Metrology Engineer with experience in optical concepts. You will be collaborating with Senior Engineers to tackle the challenging development of next-generation measurement display modules and you will be responsible for designing and developing optical metrology systems for calibration and testing.
A top US Tech company will utilize the results in developing their QA environment, strongly impacting their products' (very high) quality - consumer electronics devices sold in multi-million units globally.
You'll be dealing directly with various customer stakeholders in an agile environment. The customer is looking for a strong, hands-on, proactive, and pragmatic approach combined with strong communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Scientific and/or engineering-level understanding of optical instrumentation metrology
- Understanding of the calibration process and metrology of optical (imaging) instruments
- Performing DOEs to validate the optical performance of the measurement instruments
- Documentation of validation efforts
Requirements:
- System-level understanding of optical instruments and metrology.
- Experience with optical concepts such as lenses, chromatic aberration, optical system modeling, spectroscopy
- Must have Programming skills in Python, MATLAB for data analysis
- Basic understanding of optical ray tracing SW (Zemax, Code V)
- Knowledge & experience in image processing, color science, or optical design/simulation
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Optics, Physics, Opto-mechanics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in optics or a related field.
- Python and MATLAB
