Your Role: Driving Innovation in Tandem Solar Cells

As a vital member of our dynamic and international R&D team, you will play a crucial role in advancing our high-efficiency perovskite-silicon tandem solar cell technology. Your expertise will not only strengthen our technology leadership but also drive innovations toward commercial-scale applications.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Innovation in Action: Analyse chemistry and develop new materials for reliable and stable tandem solar cells in our state-of-the-art R&D facility in Thalheim near Leipzig/Halle/Berlin.
  • Driving Innovation: Develop an understanding for the interaction between tandem cell materials (Perovskite, HTL, ETL) and solvents, and identify impacts of material chemistry on device performance and reliability. Identify failure modes related to material composition, and material purity, and develop methods to successfully suppress them.
  • Innovation Implementation: Support our global production facilities in implementing material innovations. Your willingness to travel and intercultural competence will be key assets.
  • Technology Trendsetter: Lead the development of innovative ideas and act as a driving force for creative solutions that align with our corporate vision and goals.
  • Visionary Experimenter: Strategically design and conduct experiments, analyse results, and continuously improve products, materials, processes, and equipment.

Your Profile: Expertise Meets Passion

We are seeking a self-driven and innovative scientist or engineer with a robust background in chemistry for perovskite and/or tandem solar cell technology.

Your Qualifications:

  • A degree in science or engineering (PhD preferred).
  • Extensive knowledge of material characterization and chemistry analysis, particularly perovskite chemistry for solar cells.
  • Experience with ICP-MS, NMR, GC-MS, HPLC or other analytical methods for chemical characterization.
  • Ideally, experience in statistical data analysis and Design of Experiments (DoE).
  • Preferably, industry experience in photovoltaics or semiconductor technology.
  • A goal-oriented, systematic, and analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong teamwork and hands-on mentality as well as very good organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with statistical software is a plus.
  • Very good spoken and written English skills; proficiency in German is a bonus.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
